New school year 2023 begins !

January 31st , we had our school year begin here in Uganda. In Uganda, we have three trimesters of the school year. We have begun the first trimester and children are so excited about the new changes at school.

We have two male staff that have joined our team of care givers. The staff are Timothy and Charles. We are so thankful to God for them.

We had plans to have all children study from new and spacious classrooms. However, this was not fully achieved due to shortage of finances.

Of the four classrooms, we managed to roof two. We had to start using them though they are not fully complete. We are trusting the Lord, to enable us complete the roofing soon.

Buying trees from local farmers and turning them into timber reduces the cost of wood for roofing. It also helps members of the community to receive some income.

We are currently, taking all possible steps to roof the remaining two classrooms so that the children can utilize them and the overcrowding stops. Crowded small classrooms make learning hard and sometimes impossible. On hot days, the heat is unbearable. Since we have no air conditioners here, we mainly depend on natural aeration to cool the rooms on hot days. This is achieved through having wider rooms with wide windows and ventilation plus a highly raised metallic roof.
